Angelenos Against Mansionization
Angelenos Against Mansionization STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES 1. The City of Los Angeles\' \"Baseline Mansionization Ordinance\" (CPC-2007-160-CA) does not stop mansionization. It prevents the construction of only the most extreme oversized houses, while doing nothing to protect communities from the real threats to their character and livability. 2. A meaningful ordinance must allow houses and remodels no larger than 50% above the median from the year 2000 or another date that precedes the recent wave of mansionization. All attached elements (including garages) should be included in this calculation. 3. Communities desiring either looser or tighter regulations on mansionization should have the option of creating a a local overlay zone. If you endorse these principles, please join us in our effort to promote sensible development and put a stop to the mansionization of our neighborhoods.
