Mansfield District Council today announced that to trigger a referendum on whether the District should change to a different form of governance would require a total of 4,115 signatures. We believe that for the Mansfield District, it is not finically viable or necessary to have an Elected Mayor. We therefore petition Mansfield District Council to hold a referendum and give the people a simple yes/no vote on whether we should keep the position of Mayor.
