we actually did it, the council just confirmed that lights are officially going up at the plaza. thanks to everyone who backed this because having a lit space to skate during the winter is going to change everything for us.

Mansfield skate plaza lights
The plaza was built so there would be somewhere for skateboarders and bikers and even scooters to engage in their chosen sport without anoying the local people of the community and the fact that there was few places to skate.
The development and build of this facility was great ! however during the winter months ,when daylight is a luxury, it becomes difficult to use the skate plaza due to it being dark.so the problem of kids not having anything to do re-occurs leading to "anti social" behaviour If lights were to be installed there would be no need for them to be on all night long.they would be turned off(automatically?) at a reasonable disscused time.around 10-11

let them skate. it keeps the kids out of trouble. lights are a no brainer
it makes no sense to build the place and then not let us use it half the year. put some lights up.
Why build it if they cant use it. Just put a timer on them so they turn off at 10. Simple fix.
The plaza is a good spot but needs lights. Safety first.
YEAH lights please! tired of pushing around in the pitch black

My son goes there all the time with his mates. It gets way too dark too early now and he ends up hanging out on street corners instead. Better to keep them at the park.
