We the undersigned strongly encourage the Ontario Ministry of Education to change the high school graduation requirements to include a mandatory course in Canadian history at the grade 12 level.
I have been reading your stories about how disconnected our students feel from our own history and it confirms why I started this. I am currently reaching out to provincial representatives to ensure they understand why this gap in our curriculum hurts young people across Ontario.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me of how much we lose when we forget the stories that shaped this country. I am overwhelmed by the number of people who agree that our students deserve a deeper understanding of their own history before they graduate.

My son is in grade 11 and he barely knows anything about Canadian history. This is completely needed.

Kids are graduating without knowing anything about how our country was built. It is embarrassing.

Agree 100%. Its a shame that kids leave school knowing more about other places then their own country.
