The Farmington Public School District has recently eliminated various important history electives in the school district. Not only were many students disappointed but so were several teachers. Electives like WWII and World Religions are extremely helpful in understanding cultures in our community and how to prevent problems in our nations future. If you are a student, teacher, parent, or member of our community in Farmington Hills, please sign this petition to advocate to get our history electives back!

It was learning of these specific electives that made my son decide to switch from private school to North Farmington! And they lived up to his expectations Plus inspired his career goals.
Word War II was an essential class to our son's understsnding of AP World history. Gutting these vital electives will dtive parents away ftom the district.
I took both these classes while a student at North. Not only were they both very informative classes, they were also extremely fun and allowed me to learn about things im passionate about. It gave me something to be excited about each day. Please don't take these classes away for other students who find passion in such topics.
I have taken World Religions and it is one of the best classes. Mr. Day is one of the few teachers who have a true passion for the classes he teaches.
World religions is a great class, and now more then ever, it is important to learn about other religions and creeds and to teach acceptance of differences.
I want to take World Religions but thanks to our district that class is not available.
All these history electives are needed to learn more about WW2, civil war, old west, and more. We have ran these classes and they've been classes loved by the students. So it'll be a waste to take away all those electives.

I was a student at Farmington Public Schools, and taking these history classes greatly impacted me and inspired me to go into International relations in college.
