Schools Need to Implement Subjects That Relate to Courses in University
We are a Year 13 Social Studies group, and as part of our internal are trying to create social change through influencing a policy. We believe that the subjects that currently represent university courses are inadequate and don't give students a good idea of what to take in university. This leads to decreased enthusiasm for university attendance and overall less people going to university due to not knowing what to study. Furthermore, many people are forced to change courses once they begin university as they find that the course is nothing like the subjects that they studied in college and were required for the course.
We propose to introduce more subjects in Year 13 that better relate to popular university courses. These subjects will be university entrance and include the same type of examinations as other subjects so picking them will not disadvantage in terms of grades and results.
