The FDA has allowed for the temporary alteration of ingredients without altering a label or ingredients list on packaging if it meets particular criteria. The top 8 must still be labeled for change, but anything outside the top 8 or things occurring in amounts that amounts less than 2% of the recipe don’t have to be labeled for change. For example, they can substitute “spices” for any other spices. For those with non top -8 allergies, this can be a detrimental change. We rely on labeling for the safety of ourselves and our children!

My grandson is allergic to garlic and without stipulations making companies label ingredients, it is life threatening for him to even be touched with garlic. Please keep our food supply safe

I manage 10 food allergies in my home for 3 people. Out of those 10 allergies, only 5 are top/common allergies. The other 5 are uncommon/rare. I rely on labels to keep us safe. A substitution to sunflower oil from canola oil or apple juice from pear juice can have dangerous consequences. We need clear labeling.

3 out of 6 people in my home have severe anaphylactic multiple food allergies. Labeling is the only way we all stay safe. It’s already hard to get all of our safefoods during this mess... labeling changes or lack there of will put many, many people in danger.. including half of my household.

This is a dangerous change for the millions of Americans who have allergies outside of the Top 8. Food labels are useless if they're not accurate. Mandatory labeling should stay.

This is unacceptable, many have allergies to things other then the top 8 why are we any less important to protect. As it is terms like spices and flavorings make most foods considered not safe. Now we have to worry about trusted companies changing their ingredients. This could be deadly to many

2% ingredients can still equal 100% death to people with allergies. Labels need to be very clear on what ingredients are and where they are sourced. How would you like to have an anaphylactic reaction because of (natural flavors) or proprietary and trade secrets? Lots of us do that have allergies. Im not asking them to stop selling thier products just be very clear what they contain because lives depend on it.
