This petition calls on Congress to strengthen allergen labeling regulations to safeguard individuals with food allergies. Many food products currently lack clear labeling, increasing the risk of severe allergic reactions.

The proposed changes include:

  1. Clear Ingredient Disclosure: Require all allergens to be listed prominently on packaging.
  2. Cross-Contamination Warnings: Mandate clear statements about potential cross-contamination risks.
  3. Standardized Allergen Definitions: Establish a consistent list of allergens that must be disclosed.

By improving allergen labeling, Congress can help consumers make safer food choices and reduce the incidence of allergic reactions, ensuring better public health for all.
