Our parents pay taxes for public schooling. And those who drive to school have to park somewhere. Yet this parking isn't affordable for students. The amount currently is $50 just to park your own car. This petition would lower the price of parking in WHS to $25.. This would make it cheap and affordable for all students. Also this would make WHS a truly equal place for the lower income, Middle class, and the upper class students.
By reducing the price of the parking pass, more students will be willing to pay, which will in the long run provide more money for the District.
As well lower income students will be less inclined to illegally park in non high school areas, which will allow police to patrol more efficiently in the area.
The petition will also require less students to ride the bus since they now drive to school. This in turn will minimize the expense WHS spends on buses.

50 dollars is outrageous, and lies outside of disposable income for some students. I am willing to support my school, but not pay that much for a privilege that should require registration alone.
Finally the proletariat shall be oppressed no more. Down with the bourgeoisie, long live Marx and our father Lenin.
The parking lot is solely used for WHS right? Shouldn't the school tax we pay cover the parking lot as well?
We shouldn't even need to pay for parking.
I think it is too high and I am curious what the money is actually used for???

This would make getting a pass much easier without have to take out $50 from my account or my parents account. For me, that's 2 whole tanks of gas. For $25, I could pay for it myself instead of asking my parents and although it's still a little high, $25 is a lot better that $50 by far. I hope our administration sees this petition and it's well-explained reasons why it should be reduced, and recognizes that not all students can spare a whole $50 on the spot. I support this petition 100%.
