The university has officially reversed their decision and granted us access to the campus theatres for UP A Capella. This result belongs to the 674 of you who stood firm in the belief that these spaces belong to the student body. We will now turn our attention to coordinating the …
This petition will be presented to the University of Pretoria Executive. The executive has rejected UP A Capella (formerly known as Serenade) to take place in the on-campus theatres. Students are not willing to compromise while the theatres are in a working state. Support the students through signing this petition so that we can make UP A Capella happen on campus
This should be a no-brainer... UP culture activities should take place in UP theatre's. Its only fair, not to mention safer than making students drive or walk from one res to the other in the evening when who knows what can happen.

I have been involved with serenade for nine years and not allowing students to perform on their own campus after months of extremely hard work is yet another example of UP's seemingly inability to take their students' needs to heart.

Taking away something that students have been practicing for, for at least 5 months is a bit cruel and unfair.
Why have facilities on a campus that the paying students can't even use...???

We have been working on our serenade for almost 7 months. Now a week and a half before we perform, we find out we cannot perform in the musion. It just makes me want to be finnished with TUKS because none of its culture events are enjoyable anymore.

Who makes these decisions? Is it Stuku, DSA, Tuksres or Mr Mike Frankenstein from the VC's office? Obviously someone feeds the Executive with perceptions and suggestions? Do these decision makers have any idea on what Student Life is??
