Students in halls across the country are faced with not only over-priced accommodation, but with extortionately expensive prices for them to do their laundry. The laundry service provider, Circuit, at the Tannery in Leeds charges students £2.70 for a basic wash and £1.20 to use the driers. On a student budget this is unaffordable especially when we are to pay £119 a week to stay here. Surely for this price, we would expect the provision of our own washing machines in our flats? Perhaps not...

This petition, when received enough signatures, will be forward to the relevant companies both Unite Students and Circuit for them to re-evaluate their laundry schemes. I propose they equip flats with laundry facilities rather than having to use a communal laundrette which, again, is too expensive. If Unite and Circuit cannot do this, then I propose that Unite contracts Circuit, and as part of our £119 per week rent, we are entitled to use their machines for free.
