Whereas Systemic Lupus Erythematous is under recognized as a global health problem by public, health professionals and government, Driving the for greater awareness Whereas medical research on lupus and effort to develop safer and more effective therapies for the disease are under funded in comparison with diseases of comparable magnitude and severity. Where as no new safe and effective drugs drugs for lupus have been introduced in more than forty years. Current drugs for lupus can be very toxic and can cause other life threatening health problems that can be worse then the primary diese. We, the undersigned hereby petition the legislative assembly of Ontario to assist financially with media campaigns to bring about knowledge of sytemic lupus and signs and symptoms of this disease to all citizens of Ontario. We further petition the legislative assembly of Ontario to Provide Funding for research currently being undertaken in Lupus Clinics throughout Ontario for everyone that signs we get that much closer
