We feel that the lunch queuing times are unfair. While we understand and appreciate the difficulties of creating a system that works for everyone, the current system seems not to be working for the majority of students. First years are currently allowed into lunch earliest every day, with second years allowed in second. We feel that although they may have paid in advance, the older students getting their lunch is just as important as the younger students getting lunch. If any of the older pupils are relying on having school lunch, they won’t have brought any alternatives, so getting their lunch is equally important as the first years getting theirs. Our other point, is that while a rotation system is in place for the older year groups, it doesn’t seem to always be fair or balanced. We feel that a reviewed timetable where all year 2-5 pupils have the different time slots shared out equally would solve the current unfairness of the lunch queuing system.
