The current monthly pay system for student workers at Lamar University is frustrating at best and makes it nearly impossible for students to budget out their paychecks to last until the next one comes. It becomes an even bigger struggle during breaks when students are allowed to work more than 15 hours a week but are still only paid at the end of every month. By signing this petition you will help show those leading this school that the student body thinks that getting bi-weekly (every two weeks) or semi-monthly (twice a month) pay is an important and necessary improvement.

Waiting a whole month for a check when rent is due on the 1st is literally impossible. Please change this.
THIS. Trying to manage money for 30 days straight on a part time budget is exhausting.
monthly pay is outdated. every other job pays biweekly
Would really appreciate this change. Trying to save up for books and groceries while waiting on a monthly check takes a toll.
Getting paid on the 15th of every month sucks and getting under 20 hours sucks more. Can you pick one struggle for us

I'm thankful that Lamar offers this program to ita students but if transitioning students to the working world is the goal here, a paycheck that emulates that would be helpful
