The school has finally withdrawn the proposed fee hikes and agreed to keep the subsidy in place. This fight took everything I had left but we kept the doors open for student parents. I am going to rest now and trust that they honor this commitment moving forward.

Final supporters
The signatories to this petition formally request that the proposed changes to the LSE Nursery fee structure, in which students of the LSE are required to pay the full monthly fee rather than a reduced rate, are immediately withdrawn and reviewed by consultation:
We would like to emphasise the following reasons:
- £1170 in nursery fees is unafordable for many students. Increasing nursery fees would prevent most parents from seeking degrees at LSE, cutting off a significant pool of talent.
- Students from outside the EU or EU students living in the UK for less than 3 years are unable to seek assistance via tax credit benefits otherwise available to UK and other EU nationals.
- We understand that running a nursery is costly, but we are not sure that enough effort has been made to increase revenue, keeping the nursery spaces full, offering part time spaces, advertising widely to the School's community, etc.
- Increasing the fees to that level in one year will have an impact in recruitment and students will seek alternative childcare arrangements, putting the nursery and the service they provide at risk.
- Removing the student's nursery subsidy would disproportionately affect certain groups (mature students, women, single parents etc) and adversely impact the diversity which is so highly valued by the LSE and its students and staff.

The emails I receive from you all detailing the financial strain of these fee changes are heavy to read but they confirm exactly why we started this. I have been spending my nights trying to find a path into the administration for a real conversation about these costs. It feels like hitting a wall most days yet I refuse to let this matter fade away.

Reaching this level of visibility feels like a small win in a very long fight. I am exhausted by the silence from the administration but seeing your support keeps me going forward.

Ridiculous. They did not even consult us before dropping this bomb. Stop punishing parents for wanting an education!
The nursery is a lifeline for us. If these fees go up I have no idea what I am going to do. Please rethink this.
Total insanity. £1170 is more than my rent. Do better LSE.
LSE needs to support its student parents. This fee hike is way out of line and will force so many talented people to drop out.
As an international student this is literally unaffordable. I came here for a degree not to go into massive debt just for daycare.
