The Los Cabos area of BCS, Mexico has zoning and land use development regulations that destroy existing investments, ruin homeowner enjoyment and are bad for the economy of the area by creating uncertainty for new investors. This petition is seeking reform of the zoning regulations to ban vertical condominium development in all zoning areas. Vertical Condo development could occur in special case situations where homeowner enjoyment and existing homeowner property values will not be impacted by the Condo development.
By signing this petition you indicate support for zoning reform that:
1. Bans Vertical Condo development from all zoning areas.
2. Supports a process for Vertical Condo development on a special case basis only where the approval process involves affected owners in the area and can demonstrate that existing homeowner enjoyment and property values are not impacted by the development.
Petition signatories may identify themselves as a) Los Cabos Resident, b) Los Cabos Area Real Estate Development Professional, c) Interested Los Cabos Area Investor, or d) Other.

The feedback from local homeowners continues to validate exactly why this fight is necessary. I am exhausted from the constant back and forth with officials but I refuse to let the character of our neighborhoods disappear under more concrete blocks.

Seeing the momentum build is a heavy relief after weeks of being ignored by the local planning boards. It is exhausting to fight this fight every single day but knowing so many others see the destruction of our neighborhoods keeps me moving forward.

Nobody wants a west coast Cancun...not even the tourists! Protect the over development of Los Cabos! This is a special place. That is why it is appealing! Greed will destroy this magical paradise...
I had the Thompson Hotel at Monuments beach go 7.5 stories after the 1st building was built at 6 stories. I have lost my Lands End Arch view too. There was $$$ involved in the extra 1.5 stories built !!
Our Son has a home there and they are being impacted financially by possible condos taking away their view. There property will immediately loose value. They had their retirement home built and was promised no one would be able to build that would take away the view. Promises that seem to not matter.
I am a homeowner in Los Cabos, and I support this initiative. My husband and I purchased our home (which currently has beautiful views of the arches and the Sea of Cortez) because of the fantastic view. We could have purchased numerous other properties, but chose Hermitage. The current zoning law needs to be changed, vertical condominium developments that will lower the value of existing homes should not be allowed.
I am a resident in the Hermitage development located in El Tezel. This zoning by-law significantly affects the future value of my home and the potential ruin of the view I value dearly. I am pleased someone is trying to do something to change current legislation to protect sight lines in all of Cabo.

San Jose and Cabo draw a lot home purchases from Expats. It would be bad for the economy if they got a rap for not respecting home owners views and rights to enjoy their property they purchased. The economy is based on foreign dollars coming in. Lots of other places in Mexico to go to that huge developments aren't taking over. the money will go there.
