Petition to Approve Ordinance Legalizing Backyard Chickens We, the undersigned citizens of Longmont, Colorado, respectfully request or leaders to act now to change the City ordinance to allow up to 6 hens, no roosters in the backyards of residential zoning districts under certain restrictions. We feel this is necessary for the sustainability of our community, green living, education, children's activities and Local food supply. This step will contribute to the Boulder County Sustainability Initiative. Please hear our request. PLEASE SIGN BELOW ONLY IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF LONGMONT AND HAVE NOT YET SIGNED A PAPER PETITION. PLEASE ENTER YOUR STREET ADDRESS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION--THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR CREDIBILITY TO CITY COUNCIL. THANKS!

December 31, 2008

I was just checking the map and seeing all these addresses pop up from every corner of the city and it feels like we are actually starting to build something real here. It is honestly wild to think that next time I see my neighbors we might be talking about coop designs instead of just the weather.

1820 Clover Basin Dr. Its my property and I should be allowed to have them as long as they are kept clean and contained.

732 Sunset Ave. Hens are quiet and produce great fertilizer. Why is this even a controversy? Let us have our chickens.
