I/We, the undersigned, call for better rail links to improve rail services from Lockerbie Station. I/We, the undersigned, ask interested parties to make the case for more trains stopping at Lockerbie, particularly early morning trains to Edinburgh and late trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh, so that local residents can enjoy the opportunities that both cities provide.

At a meeting with Scotland's Transport Minister Keith Brown, local Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell pressed for support in discussions with Transpennine, and also asked Mr Brown to consider including in the Scotrail franchise an early morning Carlisle to Edinburgh service which could stop at Lockerbie if Transpennine won't.

David Mundell MP is lobbying again all the interested parties in the rail industry to make the case for more trains stopping at Lockerbie, and in particular for the early morning service to Edinburgh and late evening services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh so local people can enjoy entertainment opportunities in both cities.

Keith Brown has asked David Mundell MP for evidence that local people would use these extra services; I/We, the undersigned, trust that this petition will provide that evidence.
