The news is finally out and Kmart is officially coming to Lithgow. Seeing this transition from a simple idea to a reality for our town is overwhelming and I am deeply grateful for the community backing this effort. We have successfully secured a much better shopping future for our families.
Katoomba closed down and BigW has replaced it.. and they have very minimal stock... Same thing happened in Bathurst but they've got Best and Less and a much better BigW. Imagine the business and jobs a Kmart could attract to town.. not to mention some great shopping! Please share this petition with your friends!
Watching this count climb toward 500 signatures brings me back to the frustration of another long drive to Bathurst just to find basic items for my house. We need to keep this momentum going right now so the local council sees exactly how many of us are tired of limited choices here in Lithgow.

We are gaining momentum and creeping toward that hundred signature milestone. Please send this link to a few neighbors in town so we can show the retail planners that Lithgow is ready for a Kmart.

Lithgow would be a great place for a Kmart store. It's roughly halfway between the current closest stores of Penrith and orange, which are about 2 hours away in opposite directions. Lithgow really needs a Kmart!

It would provide jobs. It would not be taking business away from smaller, specialist retailers. It would save me money on petrol that I would buy from Medlow Bath United on my way to Katoomba or Penrith to buy the goods at a price suitable to my budget, not available through local merchants.

We sure do need a major store here in Lithgow. I hate having to go to Bathurst for items I can not get here, makes a $20 item cost $50. It would also bring more business to the struggling shops here. What do we do when we go to Bathurst, go round the other shops. Please help.

Please let this happen Lithgow needs some family stores for clothing and shoes and home wares other than the overpriced target that have no competition. The jobs created for mothers fathers and the youth would be fantastic and they are much needed.

We would love a kmart in town. Would be great for business. We don't have much in the way of big shops. I think it would do much better than Target.
