IN THE RECENT SURGE OF ASYLUM SEEKERS THE MAYOR BRANDON JOHNSON HAS PROPOSED A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IS TO MOVE OUR YOUTH OUT OF OUR PARKS. HE IS ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE YOUTH AT ADMUNSEN PARK 6900 W BLOOMINGDALE AND HOUSE ASYLUM SEEKERS. LETS STAND TOGETHER AND SAY NO TO BRANDON JOHNSON! HELP SAVE OUR YOUTH!
I have been hearing from families who use Amundsen Park daily and their fear for our neighborhood kids is palpable. These spaces are the only safe haven many of our children have after school and I am currently working to get a direct meeting with the mayor to explain why this plan is failing our own community.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one fighting to keep our children safe in their own neighborhood. This groundswell of support proves that our community refuses to let these essential spaces be taken away from our kids.

WHY WOULD THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS OUR KIDS OFF THE STREETS BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM? YOU PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT PARENTS NOT BEING INVOLVED OR KEEPING THEIR CHILDREN OFF THE STREETS BUT YOU ARE TAKING THE ONE THING THEY HAVE LEFT IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD???? HOW? WHY???? WHAT ABOUT THEIR SAFETY??? WHY NOT HOUSE THEM DOWNTOWN? IN VACANT ABANDONED PLACES THAT NO ONE IS CURRENTLY USING??? WHY TAKE ACTIVITIES FROM THE CHILDREN??? FAMILIES HAVE SPENT THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY TO KEEP THEIR CHILDREN SAFE! TO PROVIDE A SAFE SPACE FOR THEIR CHILDREN! THEY HAVE RAISED AND EARNED MONEY FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO HAVE A PLACE TO GO AND STAY OUT OF TROUBLE! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?

I support the Windy City Dolphins and other youth groups. Mayor Brandon Johnson is wrong for this especially when there are plenty of abandoned buildings, warehouses and factories that can be used instead.

These are our children. What else would they do if you take this away? I’m sick of this…
