Final supporters
The purpose of this petition is to gain support for winter co-curriculum activities for the Dodgeville Community School District beginning on Monday, December 7th, or sooner. On Monday, November 23rd the Dodgeville Board of Education voted unanimously to pause all winter co-curriculum activities. While we appreciate and understand the tough decisions our BOE is forced to make during this COVID-19 pandemic, we firmly believe it is in the best interest for our student athletes/theater participants to have the opportunity to participate. As part of their participation these students (along with their parents) would be expected to sign a risk agreement. In addition we fully expect that the necessary precautions and documentation be in place in order to keep all participants as safe as possible.

Yes, all of our kid's that have worked so hard since they we're in wrestling at the age of 4 has been ripped. My son Jack as a Junior yr. was one match away to making it to St. Sadly he lost, but we we're so proud! And sadly State wrestling didn't happen. I want him to be able to finish something that he has worked so hard for!
Please let them play. Every player and family has spent their earlier years preparing and dreaming about this especially our Seniors. Earlier season Sports Teams during this pandemic have proven they can play safe and have been diligent abiding by the rules given to play. Thanks
As a coach respect and appreciate the tough decisions that our administrators and board members have to make in these tough times. My kids and wife have unconditionally supported me as a coach. Now I, unconditionally, support my kids and my family. We can do this safely and responsibly.
The safest place for our kids and best chance to reduce covid spread is by allowing participation in co-curriculars in a clean, safe environment on school grounds following rigid safety protocols as guided by our public heath officials. Shutting down these opportunities will assuredly lead to activities that pose higher risks to the students and the community at large of covid infections. #facts. Let them participate!
The students, and their families, were great about abiding by precautions at the soccer and football games this fall. Please consider letting the students participate in winter sports and other activities. They need these outlets for their overall wellbeing and mental health. For some kids, these activities are of utmost importance. These activities help kids get through, and tolerate, virtual learning, and other Covid related restrictions. It allows them to be amongst a limited number of their peers. That will definitely help their overall wellbeing and mental health too. Thank you!
Students need co-curricular activities for their physical and mental wellness. They need positive social interaction.
If surrounding communities are giving the opportunity to their kids, Dodgeville should as well.

Please let them play and please allow spectators limited the way you see fit, but as a grandparent there is nothing more exciting than seeing your grandchild play.
