Petition to Add Ramp for Tunnel Access in Lennox and Addington House, Carleton University

We are a group of Carleton University students, who raising awareness on privilege surrounding ableism on our campus.
Lennox and Addington is the newest residence building on our campus, and we are campaigning to have a ramp installed from the first floor leading into the tunnels so disabled students can access the tunnels more conveniently than having to take an evaluator down seven steps.
The first floor is considered to be the accessibility floor, however it poses problems for students who have mobility impairments. Although the first floor is easily accessible from the outside, there are seven steps separating the floor from the tunnel exit.
People with mobility issues must take one of two elevators beside these steps just to reach the tunnels or get back onto their floor.
During a fire alarm, these people would have only one exit, and have no choice but to go outside. With better planning on this brand new building, this small architectural issue could have been easily avoided.

it is wild that a new building wasn't built with proper accessibility from the start. fixing this should be the top priority for campus housing.
