It is widely accepted that proper lane filter (not lane splitting) provides a much safer environment for riders as well as preventing heat related issues from sitting for long periods of time in the sun such as dehydration and heat stroke. At the bottom of this post is an article written by Full Throttle Law that goes over lane filtering and lane splitting in depth as is pertains to safety and sensibility.

I believe as Nevada continues to grow in some of our larger counties such as Washoe County and Clark County we should move towards a set of laws that provides the safest conditions possible for all motorists especially those that are at high risk such as motorcycles. With this in mind I ask the citizenship of Nevada to try and not consider this as a way for motorcycles to "cut lines" or create problems but quite the opposite in the fact that it creates a safer environment for everyone.

Also, I would like consideration to be given to the fact that motorcycles have on average ten times the power to weight ratio of most cars, even sports cars. This means that motorcycles are highly unlikely to create traffic or congestion as they are able to get up to speed much quicker. This also allows the motorcyclist to create distance between themselves and other vehicles, further providing a safe environment by creating a "cushion zone" around themselves.

I appreciate your time and patience as you read through this post. Please read the article at the bottom by Full Throttle Law if you are still not sure about your stance. Either way you decide to lean we respect your decision and thank you again for your time.
