The preservation of Stanton House is now confirmed and our family legacy will endure. Your collective efforts transformed this struggle into a successful defense of our history. We will remain vigilant as we move forward to ensure the resort thrives for many years to come.
This petition is to be used to argue that Stanton House Resort Ltd. should remain open. Stanton House is located on Sparrow Lake, Severn Bridge, Ontario about 90 minutes north of Toronto. This business has been operational for 119 years (since 1884), by family. It is very upsetting that this is happening to my home - so to speak -. So I hope that this petition gets results as soon as possible. If not it is going to be torn down. By sending out this petition I am doing all that I can on my own.
So please help save a true family legacy.
Thank You,
Nicholas J. Stanton,
Grandson of Thomas and Phyllis Stanton - Owners
This is a lovely location and nice resort. I would like to see it continue as a resort as it has been a special place for me over the last 18 years. The employees are kind and helpful.

What great times we had at Stanton House, our family went there for years back in the 60's.It was a great place for families and friends.I had my first sea plane ride there and my brother loved to fish and they cooked your fish that you caught that day for dinner.Mom and I with other lady friends would go to Gravenhurst and Orillia and shop for Royal Albert tea cups and saucers. The old initiation at the bonfire was a fun time for the adults"OWATANASIAM".Thank you for such a wonderful bunch of memories!! Used to swim in Sparrow Lake ,Burr even in July!!The Stanton's were wonderful hosts and we always came with a big group from Ohio and had a great time! Simpler times and very restful!

We went to Stanton house for many years my parents celebrated their honeymoon there. And continued to group there with friends for many years. Once they had children they started taking my brother and sister up there when we were young. A couple of years after I was married we talked my parents and my brother and his family into going for old times sake. My son spent his first vacation there, he was 2 1/2 months old. We kept going until my dad passed away in 2000. Over the years many of my brothers friends would come up with us. Sometimes our group would 20 people. A lot of great memories. My kids still talk about it and they're 30 & 25 now. Have driven up to see how things have changed. Stayed at Bayview one fall nothing to compare. Hope you get the signatures you need. I am letting my brother know about this petition and hopefully he'll get all his friends and their kids to sign on

Spent so many summers here as a kid. It breaks my heart to think of this place being torn down. There is really nowhere else like it left on Sparrow Lake.
