The Saint Rita’s Catholic School facility may become available for rent soon. Help us urge the Ross Valley School Board to immediately explore renting the Saint Rita’s facility as a public school site to better serve the growing number of children in the Ross Valley School District.
Renting St. Rita’s school facility is good for Fairfax families in the following ways:
- Increases public school facilities for Fairfax children
- Eases overcrowding
- Ends tension between K-5 and Multi-Age Programs at Manor School
- Allows K-5 Program to grow on Manor campus
- Moves Multi-Age Program to St Rita’s Campus, and allows access for all waitlisted families

We urge RVSD to respond to the growing needs of its community, provide additional capacity for an elementary school in fairfax, and enable the Multi-age Program to grow.
We need to provide another affordable public school for our children in Ross Valley. Everyone does not have a lot of money for a private school for their children.
This could prevent the costs of building new classrooms at existing schools. And there are many, many people, including myself, who highly value having the wonderful MAP program as the best educational choice for our kids.
If St Rita's unfortunately closes, this could be the best solution to satisfy those families that want MAP to expand. Though we'd hate to see MAP leave Manor, we also don't want the program to be shut down by the school board. Please consider this.
As a K5 parent, I'm very interested in finding a new home for MAP so that both programs are fully served. I think that there is enough demand for a single-program k5 campus and an expanded MAP campus to justify serious exploration into this idea.

St. Rita's closing creates an incredible opportunity for Ross Valley Public Schools to implement the original recommendation of the District Facilites Task Force of 2009 which recommend 5 smaller elementary schools for Ross Valley.
We urge RVSD to respond to the growing needs of its community, provide additional capacity for an elementary school in fairfax, and enable the Multi-age Program to grow.
