Did you know Leander ISD’s head high school band directors get paid far less than most of their comparative districts across the state? Did you know they receive a measly stipend of $6,500.00 when the average stipend given by other comparable districts is considerably higher? Leander band parents, family and fans - let’s join together and sign this petition to advocate for a compensation increase!

LISD has amazing band directors avid should pay them more if they want to continue to attract and keep top talent.

The CPHS band directors work such long hours. They give up family time and sleep for this band program. Their dedication should be obvious... three state championship wins in a row. Pay them what they deserve!!!!

The hard work, long hours and dedication these band directors put in is immense. The work ethic, and life lessons they are teaching our children is immeasurable. Let's show our teachers of the arts that we appreciate them as much as we do the sports coaches.

I am a 7th year band mom and can attest to the long hours and dedication to our kids these directors posses. It's shocking how underpaid they are compared to other as school districts.

My husband was a band director in Chicago, so I know about the early morning practices and late nights; the hot summer practices and all the traveling on weekends for competitions. It’s disheartening to see all of that time, effort and love of music go uncompensated. My niece is truly a testimony to the compassion and commitment that these VRHS band directors put into her playing and her strive to be the best she can be. I am truly proud of her accomplishments thus far, and can not wait to see her succeed in the future because of her education from these amazing directors.

When it’s clear that LISD band & color guard teachers are far surpassing their peers in other districts in Texas (and Sports coaches in their own district) it’s time to recalibrate the entire salary structure.

I don’t know what they get paid, but I’m sure it’s not enough.

Please take care of these hard working directors who spend countless hours improving our children’s lives.
