The Blood Product Advisory Committee, along with the FDA, banned all homosexuals from donating blood no matter what their HIV status was. This decision was a precautionary measure taken in the 80's due to lack of sufficient technology. Technology has come so far from where it was 30 years ago and continuing to ban people from giving  blood is overall discriminative and unjustified.The purpose of our bringing together cause is to allow equal opportunity for blood distribution in the state of Michigan.
