At the moment there is no laws about reporting hitting a cat on the uk roads and i believe there should be. As a cat owner i know how it feels to lose a cat thats been hit by a car and with so many cats being found on the uk roads and the owners not knowing i believe its about time there was a law that says if you knowing hit a cat you must report it to the police, rspca or a local vet so that the owners can be reunited with they pet.

We know more and more that cats aren't just wild animals. We have close bonds with them and they deserve our love and respect

it should be the same for cats as it is for dogs and be reported: they are both household family pets.

I think this should go for any animal hit. People should take responsibility for their actions and not just drive on.

I have lost three cats on roads and only knew about it when I or a neighbour found their bodies.
