PETITION OF SUPPORT BY RESIDENTS OF THE LAKE MANASSAS COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF REZONING PARCEL B-2-B To: Prince William County Board of Supervisors Prince William County Planning Commission From: Residents of Lake Manassas We, the undersigned residents of the Lake Manassas community, strongly support the rezoning of the parcel known as B-2-B from its current commercial status to that of residential for the purpose of building 70 town homes. We do so for the following reasons: 1) This project provides Lake Manassas residents with significant input into design, construction protocols and other events that we would not have in a commercial construction project; 2) Our association will experience financial benefits in both the short and long term, benefits that will not accrue with a commercial use; 3) Attached single family residential is the appropriate transitional land use for this property at this location. The buildable footprint of this particular parcel places it almost completely behind our gates and directly across Turtle Point Drive from a number of our homeowners. Taken together, along with a number of other considerations too numerous to list here, each of us believes this project provides the best use for this parcel and the most value to our community. Therefore, we strongly urge the Board of Supervisors and County Planning Commission to approve this rezoning application.
