We are the only school in our area that has web restrictions and it makes it feel like a prison sometimes.
I believe wifi restrictions block our students from opening up to the real world. However, I still believe all social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat should still be under supervision.
My data bill has gone up almost $50 just because nearly everything I do requires wifi or data.
i think restrictions are good, if it were an inappropriate website. some students work better while listening to music, blocking that is jeopardizing their study habits.
Youtube is a necessity for many teachers' learning ways. If a teacher really does not want technology in the room then youtube, netflix, and spotify will not be used because phones will be put away. What's the use of going the extra mile to block the websites when they aren't used during class time?
The restrictions, while they are quite idiotic, can easily be bypassed for free. It's called a VPN, or Virtual Private Network. It works as a proxy, and it can go pass any Work or School Internet firewall. Yes, you can play Clash of Clans or any internet required game, but you can use Social Media and Music playing apps (Like Pandora or Spotify) when connected to the school's Internet. You can download a VPN on The IOS App Store or Google Play for free. You're Welcome.

Too many cites are blocked as well as apps. YouTube, neflix, itunes, App Store and many others are unnecessary blocked apps and cites. kids don't use them during class and kids do use YouTube for class alot
