The change in the Wifi policy at BBIS has come untimely for all IB students that rely on the unprecedented use of the internet at our school. To be clear this petition criticises the timing of the policy change not the policy itself. Using the internet less and becoming more sociable is a favourable goal but I believe that it's implementation shouldn't go at the expense of the 12th graders that are in the most critical phase of their primary education. We would plead for the delay of the implementation of the system to the end of the school year to allow the 12th graders to finish their curriculum without interruption, and for teachers and students to adjust their plans and curriculums to the new Wifi ruling.

I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with school administration to discuss delaying this implementation for the graduating class. I am currently compiling a brief document detailing how this policy affects current curriculum timelines to present during our discussion.

The volume of support has signaled to the administration that this change requires immediate review. I have requested a meeting with the IT department and the school board to discuss a temporary exemption for the graduating class. I will provide a summary of the next steps once these discussions are finalized.

It is very difficult to use multiple things at the same time, it would be helpfull, if we had the previous system. Thank you!
I fully agree with this. The the wifi has not just caused problems for the students, but also for teachers and school computers.
FYI: The old network is still live and works faster. BBIS: ~16Kbit/sec BBISWIFI2: 265Kbit/sec
The wifi situation is worse than in an airplane. There you don't get thrown out and can use as many devices as you want.
For anyone wondering, they initially implemented it to reduce internet traffic in the school because there have been complaints about the wifi being slow and that it often crashes, but they really messed it up and the student council (once this petition has been signed) will bring it up with Mr. Kopkas as soon as possible.
Great initiative to whoever created this! The Student Council (with the clear backing of the student body) will do their best to change this system!
This wifi is just really bad and annoying...
