Lakeland Wifi Restrictions

The restrictions, while they are quite idiotic, can easily be bypassed for free. It's called a VPN, or Virtual Private Network. It works as a proxy, and it can go pass any Work or School Internet firewall. Yes, you can play Clash of Clans or any internet required game, but you can use Social Media and Music playing apps (Like Pandora or Spotify) when connected to the school's Internet. You can download a VPN on The IOS App Store or Google Play for free. You're Welcome.

How does blocking snapchat or netflix or any other social media let us do anything? The teachers and the rest of the staff says we are allowed to do so much, but not only did they block snapchat or facebook or netflix, they blocked spotify, pandora and iheart radio. Studies have shown that some people focus better listening to music. When you change somebody's study habits, it can screw them and their grades up. Lakeland needs to take down the restrictions and see what happens, because I bet that us students would be a lot more applicable during class. These restrictions are going to cost students money from data because blocking these websites isn't going to stop us from using them so might as well unblock everything. If someone is on any of the social medias in class, then the teacher should take their phone and keep it till the end of class or however they believe, but thing shouldn't be blocked because teachers can't deal with the students being on their phones. It's their job to get us interested in learning the subject they are teaching.

First they came for Tumblr, and I did not speak out, for I was not a Tumblr user. Then they came for Netflix, and I did not speak out, for I was not a Netflix user. Then they came for Open Door, and I did not speak out, for I could use Cellular data on my phone. Then they came for Youtube, and I did not speak out, for I did not go on Youtube. Then they blocked everything that was considered fun, and by then they had taken away the sanctity of the internet at our school, and there was nothing anyone could've done about it.

First of all.....this goal is too high because there are less than 700 students in the school. Just saying. And about the wifi. Just get off your phone and pay attention in the dang class. Who "needs" Netflix, snapchat, Instagram, Facebook or other social media. Just put down your phone for a second and pay attention. You might actually learn something. As far as Spotify goes....that needs to be unblocked. But for everything you guys are complaining about...get over it and just be a student. Social media isn't a life...it's an addiction.

I agree with the restrictions to a certain extent. I do believe that Netflix, social media, snapchat, etc, should all be blocked because I see them as a distraction. This is just my personal opinion. However, things like music apps, youtube (which I realize has been unblocked) and other various helpful site should stay unblocked. This is because they all help students focus and acquire information for their schoolwork. I hope that this problem gets solved sooner or later (preferably sooner).

If Nigers can have freedom and we can even watch porn when we want to. That's dum sometimes a girl needs to get off.
