Lake Nockamixon, Tohickon Boat Access, New Trees

Every year more and more people are using the Tohickon launch area. By planting all of those trees so close to the launch area it has only created more congestion. Moving some of the trees, just to the west of where the trees are now is a perfect spot for them. Once they mature that would be a great spot for picnic benches under them. Picnickers will have a great view of the lake from there and there will then be plenty of room for all of the water craft users to launch their equipment. The large tree near by is not doing well. It won’t be long before that one has to come down. By moving the trees to that area you will already have a tree started to replace the large one that is dying. All visitors will benefit from change, which is how it should be.

This would make access much more straightforward and convenient.

Concerns include: Access to water for users partaking in activities with large equipment: wind surfers, paddle boarders, etc.

I'm concerned that my equipment will be damaged and that my access to the water will be limited when the lawn area is busy.

I also would volunteer to help move the 6 trees in question if needed.

Relocation of the trees in question will allow for more space for everyone to enjoy their activities while still giving a place for the new trees to grow

I have been a frequent visitor for forty years and hope this simple solution will keep this lovely spot a place where the variety of activities can continue to be enjoyed for many more years.
