As residents of Lilongwe and surrounding areas, we are saddened by the fact that the Project we have all been looking forward to has been stopped thereby dashing our hopes that these water shortages will be a thing of the past soon. As the residents of Lilongwe and surrounding areas who are affected by this injunction we hereby seek to join our efforts in being heard in this on going court case. We are the ones suffering without water, we dont have water tanks in our homes to give us the comfort others have when we have week long water cuts. This challenge is felt even worse by families in informal settlements who have to que for long in water kiosks and are affected even more by the delays of this Project.

We are signing this petition as consent to join the court case as interested parties

The stories shared in the comments regarding the daily struggle for clean water remind me why this path is necessary. We are currently preparing our formal application to act as interested parties in the court proceedings. Your accounts of these long-standing shortages are the evidence we intend to present to ensure our collective hardship is acknowledged.

Seeing the growing interest in this effort confirms that the daily struggle for reliable water is a shared burden felt across our entire community. This momentum signals that the people of Lilongwe are ready to take an active role in resolving these delays through the proper legal channels.

Can the issues delaying the project addressed with a sense of urgency and concern for beneficiaries of the project. Water is life. There is no moral reason to delay supplying water to 1, 000, 000 people who have long been waiting an ever flowing supply of water.

EIA is important but it should not be a reason why such an important project is halted. Long term community benefits should be of paramount consideration than the form.

Water is Life and we need this project to bring us water not Selfish Lawyers who have nothing to offer at the end of the day rather than debate and seeking fame. Bring water to Lilongwe not court injunctions!
