I am a resident of Kentuckyand I support the Tim Tebow Bill which would grant the state of Kentucky's home-schooled students the right to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, band, etc.at their local zoned school:

I just saw the number hit 250 and my jaw dropped because honestly I thought this was just going to be a niche thing people ignored. It is wild how many families in Kentucky are feeling the same way about these sports and band opportunities for homeschooled kids.

I have been staring at the inbox all morning and honestly the stories people are sharing about their kids missing out on the band trip or the soccer tryouts just keep hitting me hard. It is wild how many families are dealing with this same lockout in their own districts and I have been trying to organize these messages into a folder to show the committee because maybe if they see the actual faces behind these emails they will stop pretending this is not an issue.

I just refreshed the page and saw we hit one hundred signatures which feels honestly surreal because I honestly thought it would just be my aunt and maybe a few neighbors seeing this. It is wild how fast this is moving since I started the draft in my kitchen while the coffee was brewing.

My children attend a homeschool co-op that we love, but the downside is that they are unable to participate in public school sports and extra curricular activities. Please consider signing this bill.

Our current school board said that if the Tim Tebow bill passed in KY they would stand in contempt of the court, however, my 2 sons would really like to see this passed. I was glad to see that they would still be eligible to play in a different district that has open enrollment from our county.

I support home school students participating in all public school extra curricular activities and am thankful that the Kentucky high school speech and debate community welcomes us. Now lets make it a law!

This seems like a win-win. Homeschool families will get something for the taxes they pay, and the schools will benefit from having homeschooled students in the athletic and music programs.

The argument that homeschooled kids do not have the same accountability as public school kids is not an argument. Considering that home school kids have higher test scores than public school kids demonstrates the academic soundness of the homeschool environment.

My husband, Greg, and I are glad to help lobby for this bill. We have two college-aged sons who were not allowed to play high school sports. Now our two younger sons hope for the opportunity to play. Please let us know what we can do to help!

I am wanting to remove my son from public school into a private school. The private school does not have marching band and would be so sad to not allow him to do something he so enjoys doing.
