We, the residents of SiO housing, Kringsjå student village, building 12-14 entered into an agreement with SiO, represented by SiO Housing, with the understanding that our residence has been completely renovated and, as such, a higher monthly rent was understandable and agreed upon. However, during the 2015/2016 academic year the residents have been subjected to numerous problems with the building, including non-operational lifts for extended periods (days) as well as frequent interruptions in the supply of sanitary water, especially heated. When one pays a premium to live in a renovated building, one does not expect, and should not be expected to, deal with issues typical for old, poorly maintained buildings.

As such we, the residents of building 12-14, demand a 10% reduction in our rent, to be applied for the entirety of academic year 2015/2016 retrospectively, as well as for the remainder of our contracts. The current balance of receivables, for months ranging from and including August 2015 to March 2016, is to be discounted from the next invoice (for the period of May 2016) immediately, while subsequent rent reductions are applied on a rolling basis.
