The school administration has officially agreed to reschedule our graduation ceremony. I am grateful to everyone who lent their support to this effort to honor the achievements of the class of 2020. We look forward to seeing the students walk across the stage.

We as parents, family, friends, and students, have asked the King’s Ridge Class of 2020 to stand strong for what they believe in, to be their best, to never settle for less, and, above all else, honor God. The King's Ridge Class of 2020 excelled in these expectations and standards. These young men and women, our loved ones, deserve more than the graduation currently being proposed. The King’s Ridge Class of 2020 deserves to be honored in a ceremony worthy of their achievements.
We, the undersigned, are proposing the King's Ridge Class of 2020 graduation ceremony be postponed to July 31st. If King’s Ridge can sponsor a party on the football field on July 31st, a graduation doesn’t seem impossible and should take place prior to the already scheduled party. We understand that not all students, administrators, and loved ones will be able to attend.
Most of the private schools in the area, as well as the larger public schools, including the largest school district in Georgia rescheduled their graduation ceremonies. Many schools conducted surveys to see what the students and parents wanted (Atlanta Public Schools, for one). If these schools can reschedule graduation, so can King’s Ridge. Our children deserve the opportunity to walk across a stage as Pomp and Circumstance plays.

- Field to marked off with the graduating seniors seated and distanced; admin and staff seated together and distanced; attendees are assigned a blocked set of 5 seats on the field

- Students: Every graduating Senior
- Up to 5 Guests - Family/Guardians/Caregivers only
- Teachers, faculty, Administration, Board Members
How?
- All attendees will be provided with hand sanitizer at the entry gates
- All entry points and seating for attendees and graduates will be arranged for appropriate and required social distancing in all directions.
- Police presence to help orderly entrance/exit
- Zoom the ceremony for family members and staff/ admin not in attendance
- Create online registration whereby all parents and graduates agree to maintain social distancing through the entirety of the event. Those graduates who do not register and agree to the rules, will not be allowed to participate
- All rehearsals to be done virtually, in advance. No on-site rehearsal.
By singing this petition, we show that we love King's Ridge and only want the best for the graduating class of 2020.

The administration remains firm in their current position despite the numerous concerns raised by parents and students. It is clear that our collective advocacy is necessary to ensure the accomplishments of the class are recognized with appropriate formality.

All seniors of 2020 deserve to have actual graduation ceremonies. In the district where I work, we have scheduled June, July, October, and December dates so that we can do all we can to ensure our students get their graduation. King's Ridge should do the same for their students.
As an alumni and a brother who is graduating, I know how special my graduation and all the other celebrations were. These seniors have worked so hard and have King’s Ridge their time and support throughout the years. These seniors deserve a graduation!!
Please make it right for these kids and families. They’ve sacrificially given to this school in many ways over the years (more than just money. But sacrifices made to help a small school grow). Please do what’s right!
I strongly support moving graduation to July. Prayerfully, by then, things will have calmed down and the graduates can have a wonderful celebration and happy memories.
Wouldn’t want my sister and all of her friends from Kingergarten to be robbed from there graduation. They deserve an actual ceremony with friends and family! If UGA (50,000+ people) can reschedule so can KR!
These students worked hard for their day in the sun. Please go forward with a formal event.
I agree our kids should get a big event that they deserve, but I will support the final decision regardless of how I feel

As a mother of twins graduating during this pandemic, it saddens me when schools don't allow the kids to graduate together. Especially a smaller school like King's Ridge, it would be completely plausible and much easier to both social distance and allow the kids to graduate! Please don't rob these kids of this special honor. They are already being robbed of so much.
