The Kinder Surprise egg was always a huge part of my childhood. Growing up, I was always excited to hear that my Austrian grandmother had bought us Kinder Surprise eggs. Opening up the egg and eating the delicious chocolate that smells divine, then opening up the smaller, yellow one to find a surprise small toy to play with. The feeling I got when I got to have the egg was exquisite. The toy that I got was always very appreciated because it was special, you don't know what you're going to get when you get the egg. I believe that other children of the United States should also experience the same Kinder egg I always knew before Kinder Joy came along. Sadly, the Kinder Surprise egg was banned. According to Anna Johnstone, "The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act prohibits Kinder Eggs, as they don't allow confectionary products to contain a 'non-nutritive object'." I would like to point out that the toy is not embedded within the chocolate, it is actually in another egg which is rather large for the average mouth of a young child to choke on, let alone fit inside their mouth. If children are choking on the toy, the egg structure is not the problem. It is just the toy. If Kinder Joy is legal, Kinder Surprise should be as well.
