Now in the year 2014, with the eldest child out of the house and the mother away in hospital, Barry Lanigan who married into the family is trying to place a ban on sweets.
He claims that they are bad for your health, however this is a country of free will. Hannah O'Boyle, almost 18, should be allowed to make her own choices when it comes to health, and not have it governed by one person. She is currently facing the leaving cert, and without the comfort of chocolate and sweets, her performance may be affected, and she may turn to binge drinking, something in the household that has no ban. Furthermore Conor Lanigan, only 7 years old will miss out on a vital part of childhood.
