The council finally agreed to break ground on the new pitch and I honestly never thought I would see the day when we actually got this past the finish line. It feels surreal to know that our teams will finally have a dry place to practice without sliding around in …

Keswick is one of the only local towns without a 3G/4G sports facility. Our sports teams are unable to train in the winter months when the ground is waterlogged or frozen. Having the ability to enjoy sport all year around would be a massive benefit for the town and the community. If we had better sports facilities then it would hopefully attract more people to take up a sport.

I was just looking at the count and we are almost at the five hundred mark which would be huge for getting the council to actually listen to us for once (honestly they keep ignoring the emails). If you can tell someone else about this right now it might actually be enough to finally push us over the line before the next meeting.

Any visitor to Keswick knows how wet it can be, so an alternative to waterlogged turf or concrete would make a huge difference to thousands of children and the wider community.

In their day and age it’s disgraceful that Keswick School does not have a 4g pitch. The majority of secondary schools and sports clubs in west cumbria have access to these enabling year round training / matches regardless of the weather

This is so needed! The combined factors of winter weather conditions and limited indoor training facilities are extremely detrimental to sports activities in Keswick. The availability of a 3G pitch in town would help facilitate outdoor exercise during bad weather and reduce the need to travel to other towns.

This facility is desperately needed in Keswick for all ages, it would encourage many more children and adults to become involved in sport and fitness without having to drive miles to facilities in other towns in the county!

A facility that is much need for the benefit of all ages and gender in Keswick. Long overdue for a town with such a rich sporting history. All sports clubs are long running establishments which have always been well supported and need a facility such as this to continue to grow and develop for the benefit of all.

Winter training or playing competitive football matches are virtually impossible for many weekends throughout the season on grass. The school sports hall is limited for numbers and suitability for indoor football training. Keswick FC seniors have had to travel to penrith for over 10 years to train through the winter.

We need a general purpose pitch in town for football, hockey and any sports generally.
