Apex was supposed to erect a traffic signal at the intersection of Kelly Rd and Beaver Creek Commons Dr at the end of May. Now it's November, and we are still forced to make a U-turn on Kelly Rd to get to our homes off of Beaver Creek Commons Dr. Numerous accidents and hundreds of citations have occurred from people making illegal U-turns, and traffic on Kelly Rd is getting worse every day.

According to ABC 11 News, the plans and permits have been approved by the NCDOT for the stoplight we need--it's just a matter of an Abbington homeowner coming to terms with Beazer Homes. [1] The Mayor of Apex and the Town Council need to step in and do whatever it takes to expedite this traffic signal construction. Soon we'll be dealing with winter weather and icy roads, and who knows how many accidents will happen if the light isn't up.

It's dangerous.I cannot see vehicles through the barrels and barricades as I try to merge left into traffic. It is also an inconvenience and deters business to the many shops and restaurants on that side of Beaver Creek Shopping Center.

My daughter used to work at beaver creek commons and had to do a Hail Mary at this dangerous intersection. Im thankful she wasn’t killed!

The city's recent answer has been to have an officer parked near the construction. This is an asinine waste of resources and a non-answer to a problem with an obvious answer. Bringing these parties to a resolution is imperative for the community. When weighing the wants and preferences of a few against the needs of a whole community, the imperative is self-evident.

This light should never have been tied to the tiny development adjacent to it. It should have always been tied to the REST of the developments such as Bella Casa, etc, who's residents use Kelly Rd for their daily commute. No more excuses please!

This is just another example of letting developers do what they want without consequences. They should not have allowed occupancy in that development until the light was complete. So unsafe!

My family was in an accident (our vehicle was hit by a vehicle trying to enter the main road) because there is lack of traffic control. This is poor planning by apex township and should've never allowed any further development without traffic lights. My family walked away with minor injuries but we took a financial loss when our car was totalled.

This intersection is so bad that my husband & I forbid our teen driver from using one of the two exits /entrances to our neighborhood, despite the inconvenience. In addition, although WE are experienced drivers, my husband and I avoid the intersection, too. We have seen drivers there doing too many stupid things to deal with the traffic, and it’s just not worth the risk. I understand there is a contract with Beazer. However, I also know that at least one unethical former Town Councilman took thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from builders. He’s no longer on the council, but the damage he did while catering to developers is still being felt. Make it right, Apex. Really, does someone have to die here before you take this seriously???!
