The Wine and Spirits Store has served as an anchor business for 40 plus years and we are concerned about the ramifications of the possible relocation. The Lock Haven based liquor store is convenient for our Downtown Businesses; allowing our local restaurants and bars easy access to restock their supplies. The current store location also provides the downtown with foot traffic from University students, residents and visitors.
Lock Haven is the seat of Clinton County government, home of Lock Haven University and has a thriving downtown with over 200 retail, restaurant and service businesses. We hope to keep the Wine and Spirits Store in Downtown Lock Haven.

We just hit 100 signatures and the suits at the state store board cannot ignore us anymore. They think they can abandon our downtown businesses for their own convenience but they are dead wrong.

The bureaucrats in charge of this relocation continue to ignore our downtown economy while they plot to strip us of an essential anchor business. I have been demanding answers from the state board all week but they are hiding behind empty excuses instead of facing us. This silence from the decision makers just proves they do not care about the health of our community.

The state liquor board thinks we will just roll over and accept the death of our downtown economy. We need to hit one hundred signatures right now to prove them wrong. Send the link to everyone you know and demand they stop this reckless relocation.

This store is one of the reasons downtown Lock Haven is an appealing place to live, shop, eat and drink. If parking is the primary concern, there are plenty of street spaces and lots nearby ....
Keep it close to our small businesses and "Ma and Pa" stores! There is no reason to attract MORE people to Walmart. Lock Haven is a unique and historic town with deep roots in its bars and taverns. Moving the store away from all them makes zero sense.
Obviously I have a vested interest, being the landlord; however, it is imperative to keep the State Store in downtown Lock Haven as an anchor to promote foot traffic and keep it an active shopping area.
I don't feel the state truly understands the impact of closing a store in the city of Lock Haven. The next closest store is in Jersey Shore with a much lower inventory and store size. Out of the few in our area, besides being in the city of which we reside, this stores atmosphere is welcoming and convenient.
The Wine & Spirit Store in downtown Lock Haven is an essential part of attracting consumers to Main St. Indirectly other businesses prosper because of this location and it would be a mistake to move the store to a strip mall atmosphere. It is contradictory to what forward thinking communities are promoting .... a strong and active downtown area.
I love the Wine and Spirits downtown. It's so convenient for people who live there and it's a great location right by all the other businesses in our town.
It seems that there is no identifiable need to remove this store, and no good to be derived from doing so. If anything, add a store to Renovo, because of its distance from a larger city center than Mill Hall has.
