Whereas: Matt Collins is a veritable force for the DCRP's potentially explosive growth and success, and
Whereas: Matt Collins has never supported a 3rd party candidate over a Republican as First Vice Chair of the DCRP, and
Whereas: Matt Collins has only expressed criticism for elected Republicans as they compare to other Republicans in the context of a Republican Primary, and
Whereas: He did so only in the spirit of Chairwoman Starnes' Promise of Prosperity, which states the DCRP's "goal of reviewing America's commitment to individual liberty" and vision of working to "educate our neighbors, our friends, our family members and ultimately our community on the true objective of conservatism," and
Whereas: This objective of educating our neighbors and community about conservatism cannot happen without the unambiguous endorsement of Republicans who oppose corporate welfare over Republicans who vote to increase the amount thereof, and
Whereas: Matt Collins has only ever referred to his title and office in the DCRP when editorializing on political issues of our day in order to disclaim any role as spokesman therefor, and
Whereas: The removal of Matt Collins would signal to Davidson County residents, whether rightly or wrongly, the DCRP's commitment to the status quo, government largesse, and corporate welfare, and
Whereas: The removal of Matt Collins would be perceived, whether rightly or wrongly, as a rejection of young, enthusiastic conservatives who voted for Ron Paul in the 2008 GOP primary, and
Whereas: Such as these are the greatest asset the GOP has today, and its continued electoral success and ideological integrity are both contingent upon its ability to woo and welcome such people, and
Whereas: The removal of Matt Collins would damage the DCRP's reputation, as an example of internal weakness, the petty politics of personality, and wasteful "infighting," and
Whereas: Republican Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater correctly asserted that "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice," and
Whereas: Matt Collin is the least vicious and the most virtuous of patriots where the advancement of liberty is concerned, therefore
Be it resolved: That we the undersigned sincerely and passionately entreat the members of the DCRP to work quickly toward a friendly resolution of this matter and not proceed toward the removal of Matt Collins as its First Vice Chair.
Seeing this level of support confirms that we are not alone in wanting a future for our party that prioritizes principle over politics. The momentum we have built proves that people are ready for a new path.

Keep him. He is the only one pushing for actual change instead of just going along with the status quo. Don't make a huge mistake here.

Ridiculous to even think about firing him! He actually cares about real conservatism. This is exactly why people are fed up with local politics.
