A Call for the Removal of Keith Cox as District Commissioner of the Lonesome Pine District
It is our belief that Keith Cox can not effectively serve the Units of Lonesome Pine District anymore. He has become combative with leaders and creates an atmosphere of negative competition and tension among leaders and District Staff. He has demonstrated that he is not supportive of activities by the Lonesome Pine District or the Blue Grass Council's Popcorn sale.
He has tried to shut down activities at the Lonesome Pine District Fall Cub Scout Camporee, claiming that the staff putting on the activity were not properly trained. That was simply not the case.
His recent actions at the May Round table are unbecoming of a District Commissioner. His unnecessary confrontation and argument with District Executive, Doug Ramey, resulted in Mr. Ramey resigning from his position with the District and Council.
In closing, We, the undersigned, believe that Keith Cox can not effectively perform the duties of District Commissioner of the Lonesome Pine District and respectively ask for the removal of Keith Cox from that position.

I am in full agreement of above petition as some of his actions have directly affected my child. We need an honest, trustworthy, respectable leader in our district!!
i sign this petition with the belief that we as volunteers should effectively support every child in scouting, not a select few. We are not in a competition, but rather a mission to deliver these values to pass on to the scouts. We must also demonstrate these values as well and not try to be outside the box so to speak. In our current situation, this district is at a stalemate once again of non- cooperation and back door shenanigans. If we are to move forward, change must happen and truly needs to happen in this position.
I have to admit that I have supported Keith Cox through many times. He does have good leadership skills and he does know scouting. He has been very good to both me and my children a lot. This is why I supported him for so long. However, I have found many instances of late in which I do not support him. First, I never know how he will react to me when I ask him questions at Roundtable. I am a woman in a mostly man's job, and that can be intimidating at times. I need someone in my corner who can help me through the ropes and not demean or ignore me. There have been multiple times when I have asked a question and have been completely ignored. I am a professional, and this doesn't happen in my career; however, it does happen in Roundtable. I also have witnessed Keith bully and demean peer leaders during meetings. I have left more than one meeting in tears over the confrontational manner in which he treated other leaders. This is unbecoming an effective leader. Scout leaders should not feel that they have to walk on eggshells when he is around, and too often, this happens. There are other instances of behavior unbecoming a leader that are already mentioned by others,and they all need to be seriously considered. Yes, Keith Cox has the ability to be an effective leader and I have supported him at times when others have not. However, he has displayed enough negative leadership that his position with scouts should be thoroughly evaluated.
I believe Keith ' s removal would be an overdue step in the right direction.
