Mr. Hopper has been the principal of Green High School for 6 years. Recently, the school board voted not to renew Mr. Hopper\'s contract. This petition is to show support for Mr. Hopper and will be printed and given to each member of the board at the scheduled meeting of March 17, 2008. Please sign the petition and provide any additional information in the space provided when you sign. _______________________________________________ During Mr. Hopper\'s 6 years of service he has helped the school to excel in many areas. - The Ohio High School Report Card has shown improvement each year. - Attendance rates have improved. - Graduation rate improved from 79% to 94% - Intervention programs have been implemented in concentrated areas of concern. - The Ohio Department of Education recognized Green with \"The School of Promise\" award two consecutive years. The criteria used for this award are: 1. Rigorous Standards and Instruction 2. Strong Instructional Leadership 3. Instruction designed for the success of all students 4. Parent and Community Involvement 5. A Positive School Culture - \"High Schools That Work\" program was introduced to our school system. Committees were formed to assess the effectiveness of our school\'s progress in preparing student for post secondary education. - Implemented the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing program for students in grades 7-12. - Provided more effective discipline. The number of fights per year at school has dropped from 34 to less than 5 per year. - In addition to this shortened list of Mr. Hopper\'s accomplishments over the past 6 years, morale is high, students have more respect for the teachers and staff, and the students and staff are taking pride in our school district.
