Some citizens of the Plaza Midwood/Chantilly neighborhood have started an online petition to the City of Charlotte to encourage the City to make obtaining a Quiet Zone for the Elizabeth/Chantilly corridor of the CSX train line because the "train horns are extraordinarily loud and disruptive to sleep, outdoor activities and general enjoyment of homes in the area." If you think this is as ridiculous as i do, and you enjoy the sound of the train horn (and think it might be uh... useful for safety purposes) are invited to sign this counter-petition. I'm aiming for one more signature than the Quiet Zone crowd. We love our neighborhood and the sights and sounds that go with it, and if these guys don't like it, they can move to another neighborhood instead of trying to change everything about this one.
