14 Allestree residents, generously put their hands in their pockets to not only raise money for a deserved charity, but to also add a talking point to the local area. The winning bid for the former Zanzibar Sultan, a cult icon in Derby, was £420, and on 15 June the glorious 14's dream came true, and the Sultan was unveiled at his new home, atop The Woodlands Pub, Allestree. Now, after received a humungous four, yes FOUR, complaints form local residents, Cllr Philip Hickson is calling for it to be taken down. Please sign this e-petition to dwarf that number, to show that you have a sense of humour, and to claim a victory for the REAL people, against the miserable moaners.
