The Lions Den is here to stay because you all refused to look away. I am still processing this news but it belongs to every single one of you who stepped up. We get to keep training in the woods and I cannot thank you enough for making this happen.

My name is Rick, I am the owner of fitness business RAW FIT. I founded the business when I realised the importance of exercise towards mental health. I know first hand how much it can help. I served as a police officer for 15 years and I was medically retired just over 2 years ago after I was diagnosed with job related PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. I put all my efforts into building an outside training facility to promote the benefits of exercise with mental health.

The facility is family friendly and you will often see my children around whilst I'm coaching as fitness is encouraged on a family level.

RAW FIT have promoted and trained outside fitness for a number of years and we currently have a unique outside training facility in Broad Oak, East Sussex.

The facility has an outside training area, woodland with trails for walking and running, it also boasts an Obstacle Training facility which is one of only a small number across the country.

It offers training and exercise for all ages and abilities.

We have all seen how important it is to be fit and healthy especially during the current Covid 19 pandemic.

We provide a safe, outside space where people can exercise.

People exercise to get fitter, healthier, train for an event, train for their mental health and we also encourage people to train with their children and families to promote a healthy family lifestyle.

We are at risk of losing our land due to technicalities with the council planning.

Help us show the council what a great thing we are trying to do and how it supports the local community by signing this petition. Please feel free to comment on how RAW FIT has helped you in any way on the petition and share with all your friends and family.

My family and I have worked so hard to build this facility and we don't want lose it.

I feel truly humbled seeing how many people understand why this space matters for our community. Reading your stories about what this place has done for your own health makes me realize this is so much bigger than just my efforts alone.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have come out to defend this space. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never imagined the community would rally behind our little patch of woods like this. Thank you for showing me that I am not fighting for this alone.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to support this space. We are just a few signatures away from hitting one hundred and that is entirely because of your belief in what we are building together.

This is an amazing thing this man has put together and I would love to take my son there now I know it exists. It’s still got lots of un touched natural beauty around it why take it down. He has PTSD through work related stress as a PC and is doing good for so many people.

We need more of these outdoor training facilities not fewer. They are the future. They help people manage/overcome a host of mental illnesses and are the best way to get people enjoying physical activity thus combatting the obesity crisis

RAW is playing a huge part within the OCR Community, training the established and future masters of this up and coming sport. Therefore it would be a incredible set back to see RAW and other training grounds like this lost from the community.

We live in Brede and have enjoyed The Lions Den very much! The children really enjoy being outside and exercising with the fantastic equipment. They also love exploring the woodland area. It would be a real shame if this was taken away from the area.

I use Raw fit facilities and this is an excellent outdoor based local business helping people lead fitter healthier lives. Perfectly aligned to the governments health targets to save the NHS millions! Councils need to be helping this business not tying it up in red tape!

Without Raw Fit and the family at Raw I would not of been so successful at turning my life around when it was on the brink of going down the pan. They have helped me to have a better outlook on life and inspired me to help others.

All way though covid we have been told to excise, lose weight by the government to help if you are unfortunate enough to catch it. Everywhere we are being told again about mental health issues across all age groups, by charities, health workers and again by the government. So please can you explain to me why a facility which provides all of the above along with bettering peoples mental health by being outside in nature is not being praised for what they have and are still doing for all the people who participate now and in future, instead of promoting and engaging and encouraging you want to shut it down SHAME ON YOU THIS NEEDS TO REMAIN OPEN, PERMISSION GRANTED FOR THE PEOPLE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE
