The Irish Times has confirmed that church service listings will remain in the Saturday edition. It is gratifying to see our collective commitment to tradition recognized in such a tangible way. We should remain attentive to future shifts in publication policy to ensure this continuity persists.

The Irish Times wishes to remove church service listings from the newspaper. No longer would the cathedral services be in the Saturday edition. Instead, the proposal is to send these listings to an on-line platform.

Many of you have shared how the printed notices serve as a quiet but essential anchor for the week. I am currently compiling these reflections to demonstrate to the editorial board that this change carries a human cost beyond simple efficiency.

Reaching this level of support confirms that many people value the quiet tradition of these listings in our Saturday paper. It is heartening to see such a collective desire to preserve this connection to our community heritage. This momentum encourages me to continue pressing for a solution that respects the needs of all readers.

I understand the reasons for online, however for the small amount of the paper that this takes up i hardly see any real benefit. Obviously you are the experts. But i think where Internet is still sketchy in rural Ireland you would be giving them a dis service if you were to abandon them.

This is an valuable service for many elderly people in our Parish. As our Sunday Church services change and alternate between our two Churches it can be confusing unless you have access to this information. Please reconsider this change for Saturday's newspaper.

This is part and parcel of the general running down of services especially banking so that those who are not interested in computers or who like me consider the internet to fundamentally insecure and do not wish to use it are denied a long standing essential service.

The church service listing is one of the first items I turn to in the Irish Times each Saturday. As well as providing very useful information for visitors, who may not always have access to a computer, it provides a link with the wider church community.

People picking up the Irish Times when on holiday often find church services to attend through the column. They would not ne escarole have access to an online edition of the paper.

the church listings are invaluable as a prayer focus for the who are preaching and also encourage an excitement of who is preaching. It makes it a more informed decision where to go and worship God
