We as parents, students and teachers acknowledge the risks associated with keeping school open during the COVID-19 situation. We feel that kids are an at-risk population that we should be considering. As such, we feel that the future of kids lives and our society are dependent on schools staying fully open. Even though kids are not at as high of a a risk of COVID-19, they are at risk for mental, emotional, and social challenges that are being exasperated by the response to COVID-19. We feel it is in the best interest of our community and the kids in it for school to remain open even if case counts go above 15 per school. Please sign to keep our schools open! I have spent this week reviewing the personal accounts many of you have shared about the toll that school closures take on our students. These stories underscore the necessity of keeping our classrooms operational for the sake of our community health. Our next step is to present these insights to the board so they understand the perspective of the families they serve.

I have 6 children in school and promise they will struggle if school goes online again. Kids are mot affected by Covid!
My nephews attend Mt Loafer and love the interaction with their friends - My oldest nephew also is participating in student council.... they can’t get these experiences at home!
Parent. Integrity has been compromised at the expense of our kids and the American way of life. Open everything!
My kids struggle so much when trying to do it at home. They feel overwhelmed & can’t get focused. No matter how hard we try. We are not afraid of the positive cases. We are more afraid of living in fear.
The children suffer on so many other levels aside from contracting Covid. When we cancel schools it’s really all just about politics and not rationalizing the true situation
